Do I need extra insurance? Does Royal Caribbean offer travel insurance?

Because our liability for loss or damage is limited by the Cruise Ticket Contract, we recommend that all guests check their own insurance coverage. For greater peace of mind, we offer CruiseCare® package of benefits, including medical, baggage and Evacuation coverages to protect you during your Covered Trip.

How can I find out what the weather will be like on my cruise?

We are currently working to provide port-specific weather information on our website. In the meantime, many travel guides and magazines offer the average weather conditions of cities across the globe.

There are also many weather prediction websites where you can find daily weather information:

  • The Weather Channel website

  • National Weather Service website

  • Weather Underground website

  • AccuWeather website

  • CNN website

  • Intellicast website

How can I find out if anything (like inclement weather) has affected my itinerary?

A link to our Sailing Updates Notification form will appear here when any of our sailings are subject to adjustments due to inclement weather. When that link appears, you can fill out the simple form to let us know how you would prefer to be contacted with any updates to your cruise vacation.

Can passage or a booking request be refused?

We are delighted to have provided a safe and enjoyable cruise to millions of guests over the years. To facilitate our ability to continue to provide safe and enjoyable cruises to our guests, we reserve the right to refuse to accept a reservation request from an individual or group and reserve the right to cancel an existing reservation. For more details, see our Refusal to Transport Policy. That policy provides, among other things, that a reservation request may be denied, for example, where the guest’s conduct on a prior cruise has resulted in disciplinary measures by Royal Caribbean.

In addition, a guest may be removed from the vessel where, in the opinion of the ship’s captain, a guest is unfit for travel or a risk or danger to himself or herself or a disturbance or danger to others. Such guest may be left at any port or place at which the ship calls without liability to Royal Caribbean. For additional details see the Refusal to Transport Policy and the Guest Conduct Policy.

Royal Caribbean is not liable for its refusal to transport any passenger or for its removal of any guest in accordance with these policies. In addition, Royal Caribbean shall not be required to refund any amount paid by any guest who must leave the cruise vacation prematurely pursuant to the either policy, nor shall Royal Caribbean be responsible for lodging, meals, return transportation or other expenses incurred by the guest or for any consequential or punitive damages.

When can I make my Specialty Restaurant, Spa or Salon reservations?

Reservations for our Spa and Salon can be made before your cruise or once onboard the ship. If you are interested in these services, please make your reservation as soon as possible – appointments tend to fill up quickly. For Specialty Restaurants (i.e. Portofino and Chops Grille), you can make your reservations online up to 4 days before your cruise begins. Secure your reservations.

What are the gratuity guidelines for cruises?

Our suggested gratuity guidelines take in account our crew members that work hard to provide and maintain the highest level of service while sailing the high seas. Whether working behind the scenes or serving your evening meal, our staff and crew make sure you enjoy every moment spent onboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship.

How does the new Royal Caribbean suggested daily gratuity compare to their competitors?

Our adjusted recommendations put us in line with our competitors. Our new suggested daily totals are in the middle range when compared to competitors’ suggestions.

Are drinks included in the DreamWorks Character Breakfast cover charge?

Yes, orange juice, apple juice, tomato juice, hot chocolate, coffee & tea are included. Specialty beverages are additional and charged at the normal bar rate. There is still no charge for the food, with unlimited menu items once the guests have paid the cover charge.
